For two · Ronda

A romantic dinner in Ronda by the gorge

For a romantic dinner in Ronda, La Pilastra sits beside the Puente Nuevo and the Mirador de Aldehuela. Mention the occasion when you book, ask for the terrace if the view matters, and plan the table around sharing: a couple of plates for the middle, a main each and a dessert.

Tell us what you are celebrating

An anniversary, a birthday or a proposal changes how a table is set up. Say so in your first message or call; it helps the team suggest the time and spot that work best that day.

If you would like to arrange something extra, such as bringing a cake or leaving a small surprise on the table, ask before you come and the team will tell you what is possible.

If the view is part of the plan, ask for the terrace when booking. Tables are allocated by availability and weather, and not every table faces the gorge in the same way; see the terrace and its views.

A table for two

Sharing lets you try more without filling up before dessert. Some starters come in set numbers: the artichoke flowers with pork jowl are two pieces and the anchovy with smoked butter four. The tomato selection with tuna belly is a fresh option for the middle of the table.

For mains, consider the bluefin tuna tataki with miso purée, the Hereford beef tataki or the Iberian pork presa with baked red onion and roast potato with mojo picón. To finish, chocolate fondant with fresh fruit, pistachio cake or vanilla ice cream with olive oil and sea salt, which shares nicely with two spoons.

Wine and lingering

A bottle from a Ronda winery will carry you through dinner; if you would rather order by the glass, ask what is open that day. Read about Serranía wines beforehand or let the team suggest something for your dishes.

When you leave, the Mirador de Aldehuela is a few steps away and the Puente Nuevo is floodlit at night. To keep going, our guide to Ronda at night suggests a short walk through the old town. And if you would rather celebrate at lunchtime, the daylight over the Serranía has its own charm.
