# La Pilastra: a new restaurant at the gateway to the old town > About La Pilastra, a new restaurant in Ronda with Ronda and Mediterranean cooking, wines from the Serranía and a terrace above the Tajo gorge. https://lapilastra.com/en/about-us La Pilastra is a new restaurant at Calle Armiñán, 1, at the gateway to Ronda’s old town and beside the Mirador de Aldehuela. It serves Ronda and Mediterranean cooking with produce from the Serranía, wines from Ronda wineries, an indoor dining room and a terrace overlooking the Tajo gorge. ## Why La Pilastra A pilastra, or pilaster, is the pillar set into a wall: it gives a façade its order and quietly holds up everything around it. It felt right for a town built of stone, bridges and walls above the gorge, and it is also the shape of the frame in our logo. We want to be a place people come back to for the food and the welcome, not only because it sits in one of Ronda’s most photographed corners. ## What we cook The kitchen starts from Ronda recipes and looks towards the Mediterranean, with produce from the Serranía and the occasional personal touch. The menu brings together local stews such as [Ronda-style oxtail](https://lapilastra.com/en/menu/ronda-oxtail-stew), produce for sharing such as the [Serranía cheese board](https://lapilastra.com/en/menu/serrania-cheese-board) or [acorn-fed Iberian ham](https://lapilastra.com/en/menu/acorn-fed-iberian-ham), fish such as the [bluefin tuna tataki](https://lapilastra.com/en/menu/almadraba-bluefin-tuna), and a more casual side of [pizza and fresh pasta](https://lapilastra.com/en/pizza-in-ronda).
